Much like its American version in Las Vegas, the WSOP Europe had all the stars come out for the main event, but with play coming to a close on day four, only a few of the top names in the game remain.

The biggest knockout of the day came when one of the World's best players Daniel Negreanu was eliminated from the tournament. He was short stacked after losing most of his chips to Janne Lamsa, who caught a flush against him. On his final hand, Negreanu tangled with Lamsa again, going all in holding A-spades Q-clubs. He was heard saying, "Poker is easy when you're short stacked, i don't care either way what you do." He was referring to the pending call from Lamsa.

The call was made with Lamsa holding K-clubs Q-spades, essentially putting Negreanu in the lead. the flop and the turn were no help to either player, but Lamsa caught a three outer on the river by catching the K-hearts, and Negreanu was eliminated.

Top name players that are still in the tournament are Kenny Tran and Annie Duke, along with Gus Hansen, who currently sits fourth in the chip count with 405,000.

The chip leader heading into the final two days of the event is Aleksander Vathne, with 470,000. He is followed by Theo Jorgensen at 457,000, Dominic Kay, holding 430,500, and Hansen.

Play will resume on Saturday and the final table will be on Sunday, when a champion will be crowned.
