The World Series of Poker has been receiving great notoriety from being on ESPN. At almost any hour of the day you can find a World Series of Poker event on ESPN.

The Main Event at this year's World Series of Poker has been set last month. Usually, the event just plays straight through until there is a winner. This year, that will not be the case.

Play was suspended immediately after the participants reached the final table. The event will now resume in November and be televised by ESPN and pay-per-view.

ESPN will air coverage of the final table which will play up until they reach the final two players. ESPN and the World Series of Poker are hoping by airing that event the night before the finals, that more sponsors and people will be interested in the tournament.

The WSOP will watch closely how the public reacts to this type of coverage. There is a strong possibility that if all goes well, they could look to further expand the coverage in future years.

The overall winner of the Main Event will walk away with $9.1 million in cash. They also will receive a bracelet for winning and gain much fame from being all over television.
