World Series of Poker Gets Closer to Main Event

As we get closer to the World Series of Pokers main event, we have tournaments beginning and ending on a daily basis. Here is a look at the latest winners from events #27 through #30.

In event #27, a $1500 buy in, No Limit Hold'em tournament, David Stucke won first prize of $603,069. Young Cho was the runner up and made $382,357.

The next No Limit Hold'em tournament was in event # 28, a $3000 buy in. Shankar Pillai won the bracelet in this one, and also took home $527,829. Beth Shak won second place and $328,683. The Poker Brat himself, Phil Hellmuth, took a run at his second bracelet this year but fell short and finished in 6th place, winning $76,464. He already became the all time leader in bracelets earlier in the series.

Event # 29, a $1500 buy in, Seven Card Razz tournament also concluded with Katja Thater taking top prize of $132,653. Larry St. Jean finished second claiming $73,311.

In the latest event, #30, a $2500 No Limit Hold'em Six Handed tourney, just finished and the winner was Hoyt Corkins. He won $515,065. Terrance Chan won $287,345 for finishing second.

Other tournaments that are currently in progress are events # 31 through #36.
