World Series of Poker Has Events 22 And 23 Find Champions
One of the fun aspects of the World Series of Poker is watching as some first time champions join some of the big names of poker pasts as players with championship bracelets.
Two more were awarded as events #22 and #23 both had some suspense and eventually crowned champions.
In event #22, a $5000, No Limit Hold'em tournament, James Mackey emerged out of the pack and won first place, pocketing $730,740. Stuart Fox finished in second place and claimed $448,892. The tournament also saw a familiar face finish in the money, as veteran T.J. Cloutier finished in 23rd place and was rewarded with $20,034.
In other results Scott Clements took the top prize in event #23, a $1500 Pot Limit Omaha tournament. First place was $194,206. Second place went to Eric Lynch won $119,508. Johnny Chan placed in the money finishing 20th and winning $5504.
Other tournaments were in progress right now including the final table at event #24, a $3000 Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo Split-8-or Better tourney, and currently Eli Elezra holds the chip lead with 514,000 chips. Pro Scotty Nguyen was in second with 286,000.
Events #25, 26, and 27 are also under way at the Rio Casino in Las Vegas.
