World Series Of Poker In Full Swing With Three Events Ongoing
This is the time of year that poker enthusiasts dream about. The World series of Poker has arrived, and after a slow start last week, it is full steam ahead for the next month.
The month of June is one in which poker pros circle on their calendars as major money making time. The WSOP began last week with the casino workers event, and has been followed up by a $40,000 buy-in Texas Hold 'em tournament.
Currently, there are three tournaments that are taking place. The $40,000 buy-in event has come down to the final four players, with former WSOP Main Event champion Greg Raymer still lurking. He is currently in the second position when it comes to the chip count.
Raymer is chasing Vitaly Lunkin, who has 8,175,000 chips. Isaac Haxton is in third position with 5,620,000, and the low stack at the final table is Dani Stern with just under 4,000,000 chips. Justin Bonomo is the latest player to be eliminated from the tournament, in fourth place.
Two other tournaments are in progress as well. There are six players left at a $1,500 buy-in, Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better event. Out of the 918 players that entered, Robert Price has the lead with 1,620,000 chips.
A $1,000 No Limit Hold 'em tournament has attracted 6,012 entries. They are in Day 1b. The tournament started on Saturday. Two new tournaments are set to begin on Monday, a Pot Limit Omaha event, and a Seven Card Stud World Championship event.
