WSOP Hysteria Begins Today as Main Event Starts in Las Vegas

There have been 54 events started at this years World Series of Poker, and while there has been exciting so far in this years series, nothing will compare to the main event, which starts today in Las Vegas.

The Rio Hotel and Casino will be the site of this years main event, featuring 12,000 players from around the world. The tournament will begin at 12:00, and has grown so much in the past few years, that there will be four day ones.

The first four days of the tournament from july 6th until July 9th, will be considered day one. Each day will start with 3000 different players. By the fourth day, day two will finally have begun as the survivors will then begin playing on the same days. Day two is scheduled for July 10th, with days 3-7 on the subsequent days.

That will lead up to an off day on July 16th, followed by the final table, which will begin at 12:00 on July 17th.

Officially, the tournament is event #55, and the buy in for the event is $10,000. ESPN will be taping the whole event, as it has all the events, and will air the tournament at a later date.
