The World Series of Poker main event final table has finally reached the heads-up stage of the competition. After three long months of waiting, poker fans will finally get what they have been waiting for, two players playing it out to become the next household name in poker.

Michael Mizrachi was considered to be the favorite to be one of those players, and when the final table resumed on Saturday Mizrachi took the chip lead and appeared poised to make the odds makers right. This is Las Vegas, however, and somehow the underdogs always seem to prevail.

Mizrachi was knocked out of the tournament in fifth place, leaving four others to battle to win the right to play later tonight. In the end, it was Jonathan Duhamel and John Racener that will be playing for the over $8 million top prize. More importantly, both players have cemented their futures in the sport.

Duhamel will be the player to beat at the final table as far as the chip stacks go. Duhamel has 188,950,000 chips. Racener will need to catch some cards if he is going to run down Duhamel, having 30,750,000 chips to play with. That equates out to an over six to one chip count for Duhamel.

The fans had been pulling for Mizrachi for much of the final table. The poker pro made a staggering comeback at the WSOP after struggling for a while before the WSOP began. Mizrachi was attempting to win the two most coveted titles at this year's WSOP, having already captured the Players Championship.

The heads-up event to determine the champion will begin later tonight, at 8PM in Las Vegas. Poker fans will be able to watch the rest of the tournament play out on ESPN3 on a tape delay. For those who can wait, ESPN will begin airing the final table at 10PM on Tuesday evening in a two hour telecast.
