WSOP Report: Finally Everyone in One Room At Main Event
For the first two days of this years main event, all the players were divided into different subsections, and the players have played a day, then had a day off, that all changed on Thursday when for the first time this year, all the players that were left in the tournament were playing.
There are currently 519 players left in this year's tournament, and from here on out it will be a grind to advance further as the players must now play every day, with the exception of one off day near the end of the tournament.
The chip leader at this time is Robert Nehorayan as he just reached the 1,000,000 chip mark. He is followed by Hevad Khan with 935,000. Jon Kalmar is in the third position with a chip count of 900,000.
We reported yesterday on some well known players that are still in the tournament. Gus Hansen has held his own on day 3 and currently has 670,000 chips, still plenty to make a run with. Robert Mizrachi also is still alive, carrying 320,000. Huck seed continued his strong showing in this years main event.
Others, however, were not so fortunate on day 3. Gavin Smith was eliminated, and so was one of the top players in the world in Chris "Jesus" Ferguson.
Play will continue on day 4 on Friday, and the starting time for Friday is 12:00. Of course, the tournament is taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada.
