WSOP Report: Main Event Nears And Tournaments Still Ending
Las Vegas has been hosting the WSOP for over a month now, but with the main event less than 48 hours away, the focus has shifted off of all the preliminary events, and onto the featured event.
Although the main event is just around the corner, tournaments are still ending. Event #49 was a $1500 buy in No Limit Hold'em tournament and the winner was Chandrasekhar Billavara, winning $722,914. Taylor Douglas finished second, and won $467,101.
World Championship Pot Limit Omaha was event #50, it had a buy in of $10,000. Robert Mizrachi won the tournament, the bracelet, and $768,889. Second place went to Rene Mouritzen, winning $464,877.
Event #51 also concluded, and this was a bit different than most of the other tournaments, it was a S.H.O.E. event, with a $4000 buy in. Dao Bac won this event and claimed the $157,975 grand prize. Adam Geger finished in second place and took home $86,691.
With most of the preliminary events out of the way, it is time for poker players all around the world to turn their attention to the main event, which kicks off on Friday.
