WSOP Update:Play Continues But Everyone Now A Winner
The first two days of the World Series of Poker are a grind, but the players who made it to day four on Friday are getting rewarded, everyone from here on out in the tournament will be winners.
The latest players that have been knocked out of the tournament have received over $50,000 for advancing this far, and that number will only rise as the players go deeper into the event.
On Thursday, Robert Nehorayan held the chip lead for a period of time, but on Friday, his situation changed and he was down to 385,000 chips.
The chip leader currently is Paul Spitzberg, with 2,800,000 chips. He is followed by Adam White at 2,750,000, and Rep Porter at 2,600,000.
Of the notable eliminations on day four, Robert Varkonyi and Tobey Maguire.
Three prominent players are still alive and kicking, Huck Seed with 1,200,000 chips, Scotty Nguyen with 880,000, and Gus Hansen with 629,000.
Play will continue until the field is down to 99 players. Then on Saturday the players will play until there are 36 players left. Sunday, the field will be cut to last nine, which will be at the final table when play resumes on Tuesday, after an off day on Monday.
