#1 Tigers And #9 Gators Ready To Face Off For SEC Supremacy
The Tigers have played so well this season that this past week they claimed the top spot in the AP polls, wrestling the spot away from USC for the first time this year. That ranking may be short lived, however, if they do not show up and beat their rivals in the SEC, the Florida Gators.
The Gators come into the game with something to prove themselves as they are coming off a devastating home loss last week to the Auburn Tigers. A loss this week against LSU and Florida can kiss any chance at a national title away.
The Tigers are led by a ferocious defense that is expected to give Gator quarterback Tim Tebow fits. They also possess an offense that can score from anywhere on the field, meaning Florida must be prepared on every play.
The Gators must find a way to kick start an offense that looked dreadful against Auburn last week, and if they do not fix the problem quick, it could be a long night against the vaunted LSU defense.
The winner of this game will have a leg up in the race for the SEC title, but more importantly for two teams that are driven by national prominence, the loser will take two steps back halfway through the season and there may not be much time to recover in the national picture.
