ACC Title On The Line When North Carolina Meets Maryland

The Miami Hurricanes have started their trek back to the top of the college football world. After starting the season 2-3, the Hurricanes have now won five straight games and find themselves dreaming of an ACC title game.

In order for Miami to achieve that goal they will have to get some help from North Carolina. The Tar Heels are in control of the Coastal division and have to lose a game for the Hurricanes to reach the title game.

With N.C. State and Duke left on the schedule, it looks as though today may be the Hurricanes best chance to receive help. North Carolina faces Maryland in a game that will help sort out the top of the standings.

The Terrapins also have hopes of playing for an ACC title. They are one of three teams in the Atlantic division that have two conference losses. Most likely the winner of today's game will set themselves up for a title shot, while the loser will lose their opportunity.

The Hurricanes defeated Virginia Tech on Thursday night in Miami. They still have to travel next Thursday to Georgia Tech to face the Yellow Jackets. after Saturday, they will know whether they will control their own destiny in that game.

Florida State, Wake Forest, and Boston College are the other teams hoping to play in the conference title game. The Eagles and the Seminoles play each other on Saturday.
