AFC Powerhouses Flex Their Muscle Against Overmatched Opponents
Unlike in the NFC, the teams favored to win in the AFC are getting it done as for the second straight week the cream rose to the top in some big AFC matchups.
The NFC East was supposed to be the toughest division in football according to most pro football experts, however after two weeks it's the AFC North that is raising eyebrows around the league.
Cincinnati, who might have defeated Pittsburgh in the playoffs last year if Carson Palmer had not been injured on a fluke play, started this season 2-0 after defeating Cleveland 34-17 on Sunday.
Baltimore, a team built on defense the past ten years, might have found the answer to their long standing quarterback problem with Steve McNair as for the second straight week he was efficient in a 28-6 win over the Raiders. The defense was up to their old tricks as they forced 3 fumbles, had 3 interceptions, 6 sacks, and a safety.
Pittsburgh plays on monday night against Jacksonville and tries to become the third team in the AFC North to start the season 2-0.
Two other AFC teams with Super Bowl hopes took care of business for the second straight week as the Indianapolis Colts defeated the dreadfull Houston Texans 43-23, and the New England Patriots went on the road to beat the New York Jets 24-17.
