Al Gore Sportsbook Betting Odds to Win 2008 Presidency at 6-1
Al Gore, the former Vice President, Academy Award winner, top ten list non-fiction book writer, Global Warming information leader, and one of the few 'thinkers' in politics, is not running in the 2008 presidential elections, however the odds by online sportsbooks have him at 6-1 to win.
The release of his new book, 'Assault on Reason', has many analysts pondering the possibility of whether Al Gore will enter into the race, even though he has denied that he will do so. Some analysts who have read Al Gore's latest book see the book as the beginning of his campaign for presidency.
Many believe that if he officially entered the race he would jump ahead of Hillary Clinton in the polls as the Democratic front runner and one poll even has him as the winner of the election should he run against Republican front runner Rudi Giuliani.
Many Americans, as well as the online sportsbooks, are not buying the fact that he says he will not enter the race. The odds for him winning the election were always high, but they jumped even higher with the release of his new book.
"I think the country is desperate for a president with intelligence, who knows how to write, who knows how to talk, who insists on basing decisions on rational thought over irrational emotions," said Gordon Price, analyst and President of CasinoGamblingWeb.com. "The country is basically looking for the opposite leadership of what they have now. If Gore enters the race I think you will see his odds increase to as high as 2-1."
Others believe the United States citizens are simply looking for a candidate who is not going to play politics, who at least appears honest and strong willed, which is the very reason they believe Gore will lose ground should he enter the race.
"Once he officially enters the race he may change his strategy," says John Alexander, a US citizen. "People now see him as a critic of the political process and that is why people like him, but if he enters the race he will become a part of the political process that he criticizes."
