America Ferrera and Forrest Whitaker Pull Upsets at Golden Globes
America Ferrera of ABC's Ugly Betty was the surprise winner of Monday night's Golden Globe Awards. Ferrera may also have supplied the night with one of the best acceptance speeches, although there were many.
Ferrera had everyone in the house teary eyed as she humbly accepted her award and announced to the world how thankful she was that she could play a part that had girls all over the world thanking her for showing them that you don't have to be beautiful on the outside to succeed in America.
"I had always dreamed but I never ever dreamed this big. This goes far beyond anything I could have ever imagined," said another unexpected winner, Jennifer Hudson. She won for best supporting actress for her role in the movie Dream Girls.
Another underdog, Forrest Whitaker took the best actor award for his role in 'The Last King of Scotland'.
Offshore sportsbooks across the world are no doubt thankful that they put small limits on how much bettors can wager on events such as the Golden Globe, otherwise they would be facing great deficits with so many underdog winners.
