Arizona Cardinals Gambling On Old Man Warner One More Time

The Arizona Cardinals have been a laughingstock of professional football for so long now that it seems inconceivable that they could ever win an NFC championship and make it to the Super Bowl. That is exactly what will happen, however, if they can win their last home game of the season on Sunday.

If the Cardinals do pull the upset of the Philadelphia Eagles, it will be largely because they were led by the rocket arm of quarterback Kurt Warner and the unmatched talent of wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald.

The fact that Arizona is a home underdog that nobody is giving a chance to win on Sunday is puzzling when one considers the history of Warner. He already has been to the Super Bowl twice, and once came away with a ring. he might have had a second if not for the foot of Adam Vinatieri.

The Cardinals offense has been among the leagues best the entire year. It is an offense that has relied heavily on the arm of Warner. he has not disappointed, being among the leading candidates for the league MVP award until Arizona stumbled after clinching their division.

What Cardinal team shows up on Sunday will be a mystery to all. They disposed of their divisional opponents so early that they were able to fall asleep for the second half of the season. Then, just when people left them for dead, they beat Atlanta at home and Carolina on the road.

That brings us to Sunday. The Cardinals are one game from making history, and Warner will clear his path to the Hall of Fame if he is able to rally the troops one more time.
