The midpoint of the NBA season has arrived, and that means that teams will start to bear down on what they have to work on to win a championship. Although at times the road has been rocky, not much has changed in terms of the title betting odds.

The Miami Heat had a summer that NBA fans will not soon forget, and early in the year, it looked as though there was going to be chaos with the teaming of LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. The Heat started 9-8, but have since looked unbeatable. The odds makers have taken notice as the Heat are now 2/1 to win the title.

The Los Angeles Lakers had almost the opposite happen to them. The Lakers rolled out of the gates quickly, and then started to experience a down time in which they lost more than critics thought they should have been losing. The result was L.A. dropping behind Miami, but falling to only the second choice to win their third consecutive championship. L.A. has 3/1 odds.

Boston is battling Miami for home court advantage in the Eastern Conference, and they are the third choice of odds makers at +380. The Celtics had been one of the top two teams all year, but the injury to Kevin Garnett has started to catch up to Boston in recent games.

San Antonio has the league's best record, and Tim Duncan and Tony Parker again look ready to hoist a championship trophy. The sports books are not yet convinced, keeping the Spurs as a 6/1 choice. San Antonio currently has a four and a half game lead on the Lakers for home court advantage in the West.

The only other team in the league with odds of less than 10/1 are the Orlando Magic. The Magic shocked fans when they made a major trade to acquire Gilbert Arenas. The trade has paid off with the Magic winning nine in a row. Their current odds are 9/1 to win their first title.
