Baseball Betting Starting Spring Training Will Help Turn Steroid Page

Johan Santana made his first spring training start for the New York Mets. Jason Schmidt is working his way back from injury. Albert Pujols is looking to rebound from a season that did not live up to the standards that he has set for himself.

These are topics that are being discussed by baseball fans the past week. They are also some of the topics that executives hope continue to be the focus as the season draws near.

This past off season has been a disaster for Major League Baseball. One of their best pitchers in the history of the sport received a black eye from the Mitchell report. So did dozens of other players.

That made for an off season in which the focus was on negative things that happen in the game. Usually, the off season is a time to look back and give credit to the great team and individual performances, but not last off season.

Now, as the season is just less than a month away from beginning, players can finally get back to answering questions on their health, or how their swing is coming along. That will be a welcomed addition to spring training.

Never has it been so important for fans to hear about spring training pitching outings or home runs hit by their favorite players. It is part of the healing process, part of bringing the game back to where it belongs, on the field. That is what the game of baseball is betting on this spring.
