BCS College Football Bowl Game Odds Have Big Ten Flair
Ohio State has been the best team in college football for the whole season. They have taken out the Texas Longhorns in Texas, and have beaten Michigan at home as well as defeating all other opponents. Now they are favored to win the national title, as they are 8 point favorites over the best the SEC has to offer, Florida.
Michigan, who feels they deserved a rematch with the Buckeyes, is also a favorite in their BCS game, the Rose Bowl. The Wolverines are 1.5 point favorites over the Trojans of USC. The line is surely persuaded by the Trojans loss to UCLA and the idea that Michigan is the second best team in the country.
In other BCS games Big Twelve champ Oklahoma is favored by 8.5 over an undefeated Boise State team. This game will go a long way in determining the signifigance of undefeated teams from smaller conferences, as all eyes will be on whether the Broncos can pull off the upset.
The Orange Bowl sees Big East champion Louisville face ACC champ Wake Forrest, and although neither team is receiving much respect nationally the Cardinals are favored to win the game by 9, two points down from where the line opened at 11.
In the other BCS game, LSU, riding a wave of late season victories is favored by 8.5 over the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. Notre Dame was in line to challenge for the #2 spot in the BCS before losing to USC two weeks ago in Southern California. Now the Irish will have to settle for a battle with perhaps the SEC's hottest team in the Tigers.
