Ohio State marked their spot in the national championship game on Saturday by defeating the #2 team in the land, Michigan, and in the process defeated the #2 team in the polls for the second time this year. The first time was earlier in the year when they beat Texas on the road.

The surprise of the BCS standings this week is at the #2 spot, where Michigan played the Buckeyes tightly throughout the game and did enough to keep their position at #2 and possibly set up a rematch for the national title. The Wolverines could conceivably finish second in their conference, yet win a national title.

USC stayed at #3 this week after an impressive victory over California on Saturday night. The Trojans have won the Pac Ten title and now face a huge game this weekend at home against the #5 ranked BCS team, Notre Dame.

The losers in this week's standings appears to be the SEC conference teams. Florida stayed at #4 and now have to jump two teams to play for the title. Arkansas, who will face the Gators in the SEC championship game are #6. Both teams are hoping that a resounding win in their title game will vault them to #2.

The rest of the top ten seem to be on the outside looking in, but seeding is still important for which BCS bowl game they will attend. West Virginia is is #7, Wisconsin #8, Louisville #9, and LSU rounds out the group at #10.
