BCS College Football Rankings Released, Missouri New Number One
LSU had their chance at being #1 earlier this year, but they lost a conference game and fell in the rankings, then they received a second chance, but on Friday they blew that chance also by losing to Arkansas.
The Kansas Jayhawks were the #2 team coming into this week, and with LSU's loss, Kansas had a chance to become the #1 team by beating Missouri.
Missouri won the game, and is now the #1 team in the BCS, and all that is standing in their way of a national championship game appearance, is the Big Twelve championship game next week against Oklahoma.
West Virginia made their case for the title game by rolling up 66 points and waxing UConn in what was supposed to be a competitive game. The Mountaineers are now #2 in the BCS and need only to beat Pittsburgh next week to secure their spot in the title game.
Ohio State moved up to #3 in the BCS, followed by Georgia, and Kansas at numbers four and five.
