BCS College Football Standings Released For First Time in 2006
There was not a surprise at the top when the BCS poll was released today as Ohio State, which is #1 in all major polls, also is currently leading the BCS standings.
Following the Buckeyes, however, there were a few surprises. USC, although struggling through many of their games this year, is #2 in the standings.
Michigan is #3, which could set the stage for a huge battle with ohio State at the end of the year, with an all or nothing outcome in that game.
#4 in the poll is Auburn, which comes as a surprise since the Tigers with one loss are ahead of several undefeated teams.
West Virginia, one of those undefeated teams, is ranked #5.
The rest of the top 10 is Florida at #6, Louisville 7, Notre Dame 8, Texas 9, and California at #10.
The top two teams at the end of the year in the BCS standings will play in the National Championship game in the Fiesta Bowl, in Tempe, Arizona.
