BCS Standings: Alabama, Texas Tech Expand Leads At The Top
The Alabama Crimson Tide survived their trip to Baton Rouge and even though they won the game against LSU in overtime, they remained the number one team in the BCS rankings.
Texas Tech looked impressive again when facing a top team in the country. The Red Raiders beat up on Oklahoma State and are now just a couple of games away from playing for a national championship. They are number two in the BCS standings.
Texas has clawed their way back to number three in the BCS. They received help moving up to that spot when Penn State was upset by Iowa. It was the Nittany Lions first loss of the season and dropped them all the way to number eight in the latest rankings.
The Florida Gators look like they might be the best team in the country currently. They dismantled Vanderbilt on Saturday night, and now have set themselves up for a potential SEC title game showdown with Alabama. The Gators are number four in the BCS.
Oklahoma rounds out the top five. That gives the Big Twelve three of the top five teams in the BCS rankings. USC could be the odd team out. they have been playing exceptionally, but an early season loss looks like it will cost them any chance of a title.
