The new BCS Standings have been released and it is not the top three teams that have captured the attention of college football fans this week. TCU, a small conference school has moved up to number four, and is now threatening to crash the BCS title game party.

The championship game in college football has always been a battle between big conference teams since the BCS has been put in place. That may change this year should two of the top three teams falter down the stretch.

Florida is still the number one team in the latest BCS Standings, with Alabama moving back up to number two. The Crimson Tide took care of their toughest test of the year Saturday, LSU. Texas, which once again won in impressive fashion, dropped to number three.

The battle for number two is not as big a deal as it has been in past years because Alabama and Florida will be meeting in the SEC Championship game. The loser at that time will be eliminated from the national championship game.

Texas needs only to win the rest of its games to stamp their ticket to Pasadena. The Longhorns have a favorable schedule the rest of the season, and their Big Twelve title game does not look like it will be a major roadblock.

As for the biggest surprise of the new standings, LSU lost to Alabama Saturday and actually moved up in the standings. The Tigers best win this year has come against an Auburn team that already has three losses.
