Bears Looking To Dethrone Reigning NFC Champion Seahawks
The Chicago Bears have flew under the radar for much of this NFL season. They quietly have put together the NFC's best record and enter the playoffs as the #1 seed in the conference. However, of all the teams left playing, the Bears are the one least talked about as Super Bowl contenders.
Although they have the best record, there is still doubts that their starting quarterback, Rex Grossman, can lead them to a title. Grossman has been up and down this season giving some dismal performances even in Bears wins. This leads sceptics to believe that he will melt under the playoff pressure.
Seattle, on the other hand, comes off a somewhat disappointing year where they were considered favorites to win and get back to the Super Bowl. Injuries, however, have slowed their season. Now, with everyone healthy, and coming off a game in which they won at home only after Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo botched a snap from center on a chip shot field goal attempt, the Seahawks have annointed themselves a team of destiny.
The Bears defense will certainly have something to say about all that destiny talk. They are a unit that has been the best in the NFL all season, and one which believes it is good enough to overcome their quarterback's struggles and carry the team to a trip to Miami.
One thing the Seahawks will have to overcome is home field advantage, which belongs to the Bears and their fans have been waiting for this game for two weeks, so surely it will be a tough atmosphere for the 'Hawks to succeed in.
The game is 1:00 Sunday on Fox.
The betting line is Bears -8.5 and the total is 36.5.
