Bet on Political Races, Al Gore, Google, and Other Pop Events

Sportsbook.com is the best place to wager this season!

We reported yesterday that Sporsbook.com released odds on who would win in the United States senate and house races in this year's mid-term governmental elections, today Sportsbook.com has released odds on who will win this year's prestigous Time Magazine's person of the year award.

The odds released by Sportsbook.com have nothing to do with sports, however they are playing on the trend that has found major popularity in betting on such events as American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, and other pop culture events.

One of the more ironic odds put out by an online sportsbook came earlier this year when one sportsbook we will leave unmentioned put out odds on whether the US government would pass a law banning online betting. That was thought to be the ultimate sucker's bet, because if the bettor betted they passed the law, they would not see the winnings if they won because it would be illegal, but if the bettor lost the bet they would lose their money, creating a lose-lose situation. However, the US did pass the law and the majority of sportsbooks are staying open to US bettors anyway.

The odds released today by Sportsbook.com take betting on popular cutlure and political events one step further. They have google CEO Eric Schmidt at 9-2 odds to win the Time magazine person of the year award and they have Al Gore at 5-1 odds to win based on his work he did this year to inform the public about the environment.
