BetOnSports.com Shuts Down Offhsore Sportsbook Operations
Employees of BetOnSports.com revealed to sources at the Associated Press on Thursday that they have been laid off and that the company is shutting down its operations.
The employees did not reveal their names to the AP in fear of not receiving their paycheck on Friday when the company told them to come back to retrieve it. The employees said the company is shutting down because of the legal troubles they are facing in the US.
BetOnSports.com took a majority of their bets from players in the United States and a federal restraining order issued last month required BetOnSports to return all money that remained in American players' accounts and it is unclear as to whether players will ever recieve those funds.
