Big Brown Makes Triple Crown Run From The Post

Big Brown is the overwhelming gambling favorite to win the triple crown in New York on Saturday. The Belmont Stakes has been the location where many triple crown hopefuls have seen their dreams end.

The consensus is that Big Brown is better than those horses. There is an air of immortality surrounding this horse. Even when faced with an injury that could have put the triple crown hopes in jeopardy, he has overcome.

Today, Big Brown and his trainers learned that they would break from the inside position. He came from the outside position to win the Kentucky Derby. Should he win from the inside, he will have answered all the questions.

The one concern breaking from the inside is whether he will be pinned to the rail. The likelihood of that happening is slim, since there are not many horses to contend with.

Asked about the inside position, and whether it was an advantage for Big Brown, jockey Kent Desormeaux had this to say, "Absolutely, because it's an easier trip. I would be able to just guide and glide. Now, I'm going to have to jockey for position. He's so fast away from the gate, though, the race might be over in 40 yards."
