Big East Has Spotlight Games On The College Football Schedule
The ACC, SEC, Big Ten, Pac Ten, Big Twelve, and Notre Dame usually share the spotlight when it comes to feature games each week in college football, this week, hoewever, these coferences take a back seat to the Big East.
Starting tonight there are three games that could alter the standings in the Big East.
West Virginia goes on the road tonight to face Connecticut, in a game where the Mountaineers have much more to lose than they have to gain. A win and they continue their collision course with Louisville for the conference championship and BCS birth. But a loss would all but end their dreams of a national title.
On Saturday, the Cardinals travel to play Syracuse with circumstances similar to that of the Mountaineers. Surely Louisville can not afford to overlook the Orangemen, as an upset loss would be devestating to their season.
One of the more intriguing matchups in the conference on Saturday will be between two of the more surprising teams in college football this season, Pittsburgh and Rutgers.
Pittsburgh is off to a 6-1 start and will host the game.
Rutgers, under the guidance of former Hurricane assistant Greg Schianno, is off to it's best start ever, having not yet lost a game at 6-0. a win would almost certainly vault the Scarlet Knights into the top half of the top twenty five polls.
