Billboard Cash Stolen But It May Have Been For Publicity
It sure has all the makings of an online gaming publicity stunt, but it is news so we must report it. Sportsbook.com's $100,000 billboard above the Stardust casino had its money stolen some time over the past few days.
In case you haven't heard they put up a billboard filled with $100,000 in cash. Then they put up lines on their sportsbook on when the cash would be stolen. This morning a car full of one dollar bills was found in a Vegas apartment complex parking lot.
The billboard was supposedly gaurded by an armed gaurd the entire time it was up, however he could not stop the burglary.
Police are investigating as to whether the online sportsbook had a permit to hold a publicity stunt, while the sportsbook is saying it was not a publicity stunt.
Company officials will not release how many bets were taken since the billboard was revealed this past Friday.
