Bodog Buys Out Betcorp Players and Affiliates
Over a month ago US players and affiliates were cut off from transferring money to or from the Betcorp Limited group of sportsbooks, poker rooms, and casinos. Today, Betcorp Limited announced the finalization of the deal that sends the Betcorp US player and affiliate database to the Costa Rican based Bodog company, headed by charismatic and controversial owner and CEO by Calvin Ayre.
Bodog paid $9 million for the Betcorp player bases from all of their online operations, which include the very popular BetWWTS.com sportsbook and the little known Oasis sportsbook, as well as the online poker room BetHoldem, and three online casinos, the biggest of which is Thunderbolt Casino.
All player and affiliate accounts will be transferred to Bodog accounts. All links to the Betcorp operations will transfer to the Bodog parallel site.
The buy-out is one of several that were expected to take place after the passing of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. Party Poker and 888 are the two big names that are sure to make world wide news once they are bought out.
