Boston Red Sox Gambling Favorites To Win The World Series in 2008

The Major League Baseball season is about ready to kick off with spring training games this week. With the season quickly approaching, odds makers have already posted their favorites for this year.

The Boston Red Sox are coming off a World Championship. They almost acquired the best pitcher in baseball in Johan Santana, but they withdrew from trade talks thinking they already had enough to win another title.

Odds makers agree with that idea. The Red Sox are favored to win again this year. they are +300 to repeat as champions. The Yankees and Mets, who eventually landed Santana, are the second choices at +325.

The American League West is represented with one of the top sports book choices in the Anaheim Angels. They are +400 to win it all. The Detroit Tigers are +525, and the Chicago Cubs are +625. Those are the only six teams with odds lower than ten to one.

If gamblers want to take their chances with the underdogs, they have four teams to chose from. The Orioles, Pirates, Giants, and Nationals, are all 100-1 long shots.

The season begins on March 30th, and once the season starts and teams begin winning or losing, the current odds will surely change.
