Brewers Gambling On Late Season Coaching Change To Spark Team

The Milwaukee Brewers looked like they made the deal of the year when they acquired C.C. Sabathia from the Cleveland Indians earlier in the season. While Sabathia has done his job since joining the team, others have not.

On Monday, the Brewers front office made manager Ned Yost pay for his struggling teams performance. Yost was fired with just twelve games left in the regular season.

Milwaukee has had a strong hold on the wild card lead for the entire second half, but after Sunday's doubleheader loss to the Phillies, they found themselves tied for that lead.

The Brewers are in the midst of one of their worst runs of the season, and with less than two weeks left, this is not the time to have a letdown. Whether the lack of wins of late are Yost's fault or not, he becomes the teams scapegoat.

Now, interim manager Dale Sveum will have the task of trying to recoup the players and make one final push for the playoffs. The Cubs are going to win the division, so if Milwaukee is going to get in, it will have to be through the wild card.
