Celtics Gambling On Home Court To Win Them NBA Title After Loss
The Boston Celtics stole a game from Los Angeles on Friday night in a game that appeared so devastating to the Lakers that they might not have been able to rebound. The Lakers did, however, rebound, and sent the series back to Boston for game six.
The Lakers came out in game five much like they had in game four, aggressive and dominating early. Then, much like in the previous game, they stood around and watched as the Celtics fought back from a large double digit deficit.
In the end, the Lakers were able to use their home court advantage to their benefit, and prevailed to force the series back to Boston for game six. The Celtics will now be gambling that their home court advantage will carry them to the title.
Paul Pierce was again the best player on the court on Sunday night. With Kevin Garnett getting into foul trouble, it was Pierce who continually showed his greatness in trying to put the Celtics over the top.
Kobe Bryant came out like a player who did not want his season to end in the first quarter, scoring fifteen points. He then cooled down and struggled through the rest of the game, but was picked up by his teammates.
Now the series moves back to Boston, and if Bryant wants to be compared to the great Michael Jordan, it will be in the next two games that he will state his case. The Celtics, meanwhile, will be gambling on the home crowd to send them to their first title in over two decades.
