Chicago Bulls Gambling On Future With Draft Lottery Win

The Chicago Bulls were one of the teams coming into the season that odds makers felt could contend with the Boston Celtics. They were picked by many to win the Eastern Conference.

The season did not go according to that script for the Bulls, however, and on Tuesday they found themselves in the draft lottery. They had better luck in the lottery than they did on the court.

Chicago won the lottery and will have the first pick i9n the upcoming draft. The Miami Heat had the best odds of winning the lottery, but they fell to the second pick.

The Heat were another team that gambling odds favored before the season. They started poorly, and ended the season with Dwayne Wade injured and Shaq in Phoenix.

As for the Bulls, it is likely that either Michael Beasley or Derrick Rose will end up in a Bulls uniform. "After this season, we needed a break and I think we just got one tonight," said Steve Schanwald, Vice President of Business Operations for the Bulls.

The break he was talking about was the fact that Chicago came into the night with only a 1.7 percent chance to land the top pick. They came in with potentially the number nine pick, but jumped all the way up to number one thanks to the luck of the lottery.
