Chicago Vs. Detroit Over/Under May Prove To Be Too Low
The NFL rarely sees point totals under 35 unless two teams are playing with exceptional defenses, however, this weeks Bears-Lions total is 32, according to
VIPSports.com, and while the Bears defense is well documented, the Lions is still a mystery.
Yes, the Lions did hold the defending NFC champion Seattle Seahawks to just nine points on three field goals. And yes, they did bottle up Shaun Alexander, one of the leagues top backs, with a rebuilt defensive line.
What was lost in that game, however, was that the Seahawks were playing their first game since losing all everything lineman Steve Hutchinson, who fled to Minnesota via free agency.
The Bears, on the other hand, are still one of the most feared defenses in the league, as they showed last week by shutting out the Packers in Green Bay.
One thing that should be noted was that last weeks games featured Rex Grossman getting back in sync with his recievers after missing much of last season with an injury.
On the other side of the ball, Detroit was playing it's first game with Jon Kitna as their quarterback, and were expected to go through some growing pains last week.
The number 32, should be reserved for teams like the seventies steel curtain defenses vs. the '86 Giants defense, led by Lawrence Taylor, not a week two match up between the Bears and Lions.
