Christmas Day NBA Betting Will Revolve Around LeBron And Kobe
The NBA has done as good a job as any major sports league when it comes to marketing its top players. It is situations like Christmas Day games that have helped the league gain never before seem popularity.
This year, the league plans to play off the perceived battle of who is the best player in the world. In most people's eyes, that debate centers on two players, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant. On Christmas Day, their respective teams, the Lakers and Cavaliers, will face off.
It has become customary for the NBA to put their biggest games of the year on Christmas Day. In past years, we have seen teams with the top players in the league facing off, and this year, they get the battle that every sports fan seems to have an opinion on.
James beat out Bryant for the league MVP award last year, wrestling away the award in perhaps the one year that Bryant played his best basketball. That is saying something for a player who has excelled since he came to the league as a teenager.
Bryant, however, might have had the better overall year. In fact, it may have been the best year an NBA player has ever had. Bryant fell just short of winning a title in 2008 when his Lakers were beaten by the Celtics.
Bryant won the MVP, however. He followed that up with a game saving performance down the stretch in the gold medal game of the Olympics, and then won Finals MVP as his Lakers won the championship last year.
James, on the other hand, had a tremendous regular season, carrying the Cavaliers to the best record in the league in the regular season. He fell short again in the playoffs, losing in the conference finals to Orlando in six games.
