It has been reported that Roger Clemens has had an affair with Mindy McCready, creating another public relations nightmare for the former Cy Young award winner. In true Clemens form, he is betting that the public will believe his nonsense.

Clemens reportedly had a ten year affair with McCready. The shocking part of the report is that the relationship apparently started when she was fifteen years old.

Clemens lawyer, Rusty Hardin, was called on to clean up the Clemens mess, as Hardin is so prone to do these days. Instead of coming clean, it appears Clemens is once again ready to play the public for fools.

"Mindy McCready is a longtime family friend of Roger Clemens and the Clemens family. At no time did Roger engage in any kind of inappropriate or improper relationship with her. It is unfortunate that the Daily News has chosen to report anonymous allegations that are completely unfounded, have no basis in fact, and have nothing to do with Roger's baseball career or the issue of steroids in baseball," said Harden in a statement.

So quickly after the story broke, Clemens' attorney was doing what he does best, calling anybody who throws allegations at Clemens a liar. The problem with this train of thought, is that more and more of these so-called liars are appearing.

First it was McNamee, Clemens former trainer, throwing false claims of steroid use by Clemens. Now, there is an anonymous source, who claims Clemens had an affair. It is amazing how many people are out to get Clemens.

So more stories may surface, but one thing is certain, no matter what the claim, the accusations will be denied by Clemens and his attorney's. The, the accuser will be harshly called a liar by the Clemens crew. Another episode, another chance for Clemens to pretend that the public lacks intelligence.
