College Football BCS Rankings Released: Florida And Alabama On Top

There is a growing number of college football fans and analysts that no longer believe that the Florida Gators are the best team in the country. That was exemplified by the AP poll, which moved Alabama ahead of the Gators for the first time this year.

The BCS standings, however, are all that matter, and on Sunday, Florida received good news when the first BCS standings were released. The Gators were number one, followed by Alabama.

The point is moot when considering that the two teams are on a collision course for the SEC Championship game. If both remain undefeated, one will be playing for the national championship, and the other will end up in a BCS game after that SEC title game showdown.

As for the rest of the teams, Texas is in the best position to play the SEC champ in the title game. They are undefeated, and ranked number three in the BCS standings. Boise State is number four, and Cincinnati is number five.
