College Football Betting: Gators Must Win With Or Without Tebow
Tim Tebow likes to say in his press conferences that winning is about everybody on a team, not just an individual. Tonight, the Gators may get a chance to prove that is true without their star quarterback on the field.
Almost the entire starting roster from last year's national championship team came back this year with one goal in mind-a perfect season. There were no out clauses in that contract, it was simply win every game this year, or the season would be a bust in the players eyes.
Forgive them, however, if they were a little naive, they are college students after all. The question remains to be answered as to how many of them would have come back to chase the perfect season if they knew they may be without their biggest weapon against LSU in the season's fifth game.
There is still a possibility that Tebow will wake up this morning and be cleared to play, but if he is not, the Gators cannot use his absence as an excuse for a loss. Not with all the supposed talent that they have oozing out of Gainesville.
Florida fans have pointed to their defense when speaking about their last two national titles. They also will tell you how they are superior to any college team at every position. If that is true, it will show tonight.
The time for action has come. The cliche's have been great about teamwork, and about loving each other, but tonight the Gators can put their actions where their words have been for the past twelve months.
If they win tonight, and their perfect season goal is intact, they can continue to talk the talk, for they have earned. If, however, they roll into Baton Rouge and come away with a blemish on their record, then it may be time to face the fact that they are only as good as their strongest link.
