College Football Betting Odds: Alabama And LSU Battle In SEC
The Alabama Crimson Tide have been the darlings of the media for much of the college football season. The LSU Tigers have rode somewhat under the radar so far this season. Tomorrow, the two teams will meet in a colossal SEC game.
The Crimson Tide and Tigers both have aspirations of playing Florida in the SEC title game and eventually playing for a national championship. For one team, those dreams will be dashed tomorrow when the teams meet in Tuscaloosa.
Alabama has been in one of the top three spots in the polls for the entire year. They currently are number three in the BCS, and most likely need only to win out to earn a berth in the BCS title game.
For LSU it is a little tougher journey to the top. They have already lost one of their only big games of the year, to Florida, and another loss would eliminated them from title contention, both in the conference and nationally.
The Tigers have been playing much better of late, and they have the physical tools to go into Alabama and win. The question will be whether their young players are able to overcome the early pressure that will be put on by the Alabama defense as well as their fans.
Alabama has one of the most ferocious defenses in the country. The push their defensive line creates could be tough for an average LSU offensive line to handle.
On the other side of the ball, LSU also brings a powerful defense into the game. Their ability to stop Alabama's running game could be the key to victory.
With the season in its back half, there are not many more chances for teams to prove to voters that they are the best in the country. Alabama and LSU have that chance on Saturday, and a win will send one of these teams that much closer to their goal of winning a title.
