College Football Betting Odds: Ohio State And USC On Center Stage
College football teams were put on notice last Monday night when Florida State and Miami hooked up for an epic battle. The message was clear, the bar has been set as to how teams must compete to be involved in the greatest game of the year. Miami won that thriller with a five play goal line stand in the closing seconds.
Now, it will be Ohio State and USC's turn to be under the prime time lights. They will face off tonight in a battle of op ten teams, and the winner will almost certainly have a clear path to the BCS Championship game.
Ohio State is playing at home, but they also will have to deal with the ghosts of the past couple of years. They have lost their last four BCS games, two of them while playing for a national championship. They must now show voters that they can still win big games.
USC, on the other hand, has had little trouble with these big games. They have stumbled the past couple of seasons by losing in upsets. This will be one of those games in which the team that commits the fewest amount of mistakes will most likely come out the winner.
The odds makers are buying into the USC hype. The Trojans are seven point favorites on the road. They have the offense to make the game a blowout, but there is no underestimating the crowd at the Horseshoe in Ohio. The Buckeyes have rode the crowds energy to wins plenty of times before.
