College Football Betting Odds: Pressure On Florida And Alabama

The college football season began with many experts believing that Florida, Alabama, and Texas were the three best teams in the country. Now, with only one weekend of regular season football games left for each, it appears those experts may have been right.

Texas survived their rivalry game on Thanksgiving night when the defeated Texas A&M. The Aggies put up a strong fight, but fell short in the end thanks to a strong Longhorn defense and a resurgent offense.

Now, it will be up to Florida and Alabama to hold serve. The Gators will be facing in-state rival Florida State, and the Crimson Tide will have to deal with a game Auburn team.

The Gators and Crimson Tide are ranked at the top of the BCS standings, but only one of them will play for a national championship. Florida and Alabama will meet in the SEC title game to decide which SEC team will play for a title.

Of course, there is a possibility that neither team will be playing in that title game. One slip up on Saturday, followed by a victory by a one loss SEC team in the conference title game, could lead to the SEC being shut out of the national championship picture.

Florida will have their hands full with a Seminole team that scores at will, and gives up points at an even faster pace. This could work in favor of Florida State should they get up early on the Gators. Florida does not have a come from behind-type offense.

In Alabama, the Crimson Tide will use the same formula that has worked throughout the season. They combine suffocating defense with a timely offense. Alabama also is riding a long winning streak coming into this game.
