The college football betting odds every season are altered because of match ups during the year, and history that teams have against each other. In 2011, the betting odds may be forever altered when the Big Ten divides their conference into two divisions.

There has been plenty of buzz surrounding the move that will shake up the future of the BCS. On Wednesday evening, the conference announced their plans for realignment, and Ohio State and Michigan, longtime rivals, are in separate divisions.

The Ohio State, Michigan, game will continue every year. The possibility will exist starting next year, however, that the two teams could again meet in the conference title game. Traditionally, the regular season match up has been held the last weekend of the regular season for both teams. That may have to change with a title game looming.

"If these two teams retain the hopes of playing for a national championship, they may have to reconsider when they play the regular season match up," said Gaming Analyst Brad Dawkins. "It will be tough for either team, no matter how good they are in a given season, to beat the other on consecutive weekends."

The Big Ten champion has had a pretty easy run into the BCS title game the past several years. Without a conference championship, the teams had one less game at the end of the season to worry about an upset. That also has played against some Big ten teams that were jumped in the final polls and computer standings by a team that won their conference title game.

College football is moving closer to the day where a playoff will determine the national champion. With the Big Ten moving to a title game, it leaves only the Pac Ten without a championship game. That will chance also as well, with the Pac Ten expanding.
