College Football Betting Preview: Are Gators Ripe For An Upset?
The Florida Gators are the defending national champions of college football. That means two things when it comes to betting. One,the Gators will always be favored by a large margin based off last years results, and two, the team that finally knocks them off will be a big underdog.
That brings focus to this weeks match up between the Gators and the Kentucky Wildcats. The game is being played in Kentucky, but nobody would guess that based the spread. The Gators are favored by 21.5 points. This coming after Florida's offense looked to contain nothing more than Tim Tebow last week against Tennessee.
The Wildcats will have the home crowd to have their back when Florida rolls into the stadium for the 6 PM game. Kentucky also will have something else Tennessee did not have in their game last week-an offense that can put up points.
Kentucky won the annual battle of their state last week with Louisville, and while the Cardinals are not anywhere near the caliber of team that Florida is, the Wildcats still looked impressive in that game.
Of course, this is not to say that the game has upset written all over it. The Gators may feel disrespected after hearing analysts all week call out their receivers and feed into the idea that maybe these Gators are not the team they were last year.
Florida could use that as motivation to show the rest of the country just how good they really are. Whether the Gators romp or the Wildcats make college football history, the stage is set for a memorable showdown in Kentucky later this evening.
