College Football Betting Preview: Trap Games For Many Top Teams

The past couple of weeks the match-ups in college football have helped define teams and the championship contenders. LSU, Alabama, and Oklahoma have all had big wins that catapulted them to the top of the rankings. Clemson and Oklahoma State have won against top competition as well, ensuring that they are considered among the elite in college football.

After several weeks of top twenty-five battles, this week will be more of a situation where the top ranked teams try to avoid trap conference games. Each of the top teams is favored in their games, but they are facing opponents that will be looking to maximize their opportunity to pull a major upset.

Wisconsin appears to be the team in the least amount of danger against an Indiana team that has been horrendous so far this year. The Badgers will head into the game at Camp Randall as a forty-one point favorite.

Virginia Tech survived a tough game last Saturday against the Hurricanes, and now they must regroup quickly and prepare for a Wake Forest team coming off a big win over Florida State. The Hokies still have their sights set on playing for an ACC Championship later this year. Virginia Tech is a 6.5 point favorite on the road in North Carolina.

Clemson has come out of nowhere to inch their way into the national championship picture. The Tigers face a Maryland team this week that has been up and down throughout the first half of the college season. Clemson comes into the game Saturday as a nine point road favorite, while the Terrapins will be looking for an upset on their home field.

Out West, Oregon has rebounded from their opening game loss to Boise State. The Ducks have not lost since, and they face an Arizona State team that has their own title aspirations. The Ducks are favored by 14.5 on their home field late Saturday evening.

Perhaps the biggest game of the weekend will take place in Michigan, where the Michigan State Spartans will host their in-state rivals. The Wolverines are surprisingly undefeated, but are two point underdogs in this one.

Florida, which has lost its last two games by large margins, is a two point favorite on the road at defending national champion Auburn. The Tigers have been another team that has played uneven baseball through the first five weeks of the season.
