College Football Bowl Gambling Continues With New Orleans Bowl
The college football bowl season began on Saturday with four games, and it continues tonight. The New Orleans Bowl will be played opposite a big NFL match up, but it will still attract its share of viewers.
The game will be played in the New Orleans Super Dome between Southern Mississippi and Troy. While many will be watching the Giants and the Panthers play for home field advantage in the NFL, gamblers will be tuned in to the college game.
When it comes to gambling, bettors are usually great multitaskers. That leaves them with the ability to place wagers on both the college game and the NFL game, and switch back and forth between the two telecasts.
"With the televisions and coverage today, bettors rarely are left out in the cold when it comes to seeing the games they have bet on. It used to be that college games would not compete with NFL games, but with

growing, that rule has gone out the window," said observer Sam Millis.
The New Orleans Bowl features a team from the Sun Belt conference and Conference-USA. Troy won the Sun Belt, while Southern Miss. is the representative from Conference-USA.
Troy gained the most notoriety this season when they built a 30-3 lead over perennial SEC powerhouse LSU. They ended up losing that game, but it showed that their program can now compete with some of the top teams in the country.
Southern Miss. barely qualified for a bowl game with a 6-6 record. They did not beat very strong opponents. In fact, they only beat one team with a winning record. Troy is favored by 4.5, and the total for the game is 54.5.
