College Football Gambling Lines Seem Quirky Once Again
This week's college football betting lines look like lines we would see to start the season, not after 8 weeks of playing games.
The Florida Gators are currently the #4 team in the BCS polls. They are traveling to face an unranked Vanderbilt team. The line for the game is Florida favored by 14. This line seems a little low for the #4 ranked team in the country.
Maryland is coming off a victory against Florida State and has been playing very well of late. They travel this week to play Clemson, a team who was embarrassed on national television last week by Virginia Tech, the line is Clemson minus 17.
Speaking of Virginia Tech, they travel this week to play in the Orange Bowl against the dreadful Miami Hurricanes. The Canes seem to be just playing out the schedule the rest of the year, while the Hokies still have asperations of playing in the ACC title game. Virginia Tech is favored by only 2.5.
LSU goes on the road this week to face a Tennessee team that has been rolling up the points as of late. The Volunteers defeated South Carolina last week and have been rolling since losing to Florida. LSU is favored on the road by1.5 points.
These games are just some of the games this weekend in which oddsmakers have placed unusual point spreads. we'll see this weekend whether these lines were really off, or if the oddsmakers once again know what they're doing.
