College Football Gambling Odds Focusing On USC, Ohio State
The Ohio State Buckeyes have been in this position before. They have played big games early in the season and won them. Their problem has been losing the big ones at the end.
The USC Trojans have had almost the opposite fate. Outside of their loss to Texas a couple years ago, they have won the games at the end of the season, but faltered somewhere along the way to getting to those big games.
On Saturday, there is a strong possibility that whoever comes out of the game the winner will be the number one team in the nation when the rankings come out on Sunday. For Ohio State, they are looking to pull off the upset and get back on top.
It will indeed be an upset if the Buckeyes should win. The sports books have the Trojans listed as a 10.5 point favorite in the game. Much of that betting line has to do with USC's home field advantage. It also could be a sign that odds makers are not sure how good this Ohio State team is.
Traditionally Ohio State has had a pretty strong defense and USC has had the high powered offense. The total for the game indicates that odds makers are unsure which of those two trends will continue. The total is 45.
