College Football Picks: Bulldogs Might End Gators Title Hopes

Every weekend college football provides the possibility of a new team being eliminated from the national championship race. This weekend, that team could be either the Florida Gators or the Georgia Bulldogs.

The two SEC teams face off in their annual game in Jacksonville. The stakes are always high when these two play each other, but this year it is more important that both teams win. A loss by either would be their second, and would virtually eliminate them from national title contention.

The Florida Gators had themselves a miserable conference loss earlier in the season to Mississippi. That loss put the Gators in a position of having to run the table for a chance to play in the title game. So far, they have answered the challenge.

Georgia, on the other hand, was the preseason number one team. They played well early, but then were blown out against undefeated Alabama. They have also rebounded nicely from their loss.

The Bulldogs seem to have put things together and are back on track. They have the better team on paper, though not by much. Home field advantage should not be an issue with many fans of both teams traveling to the game.

In the other big match up of the weekend, Texas, the number one team in the country, will face Texas Tech. The teams are both undefeated and have high powered offenses. Texas, if they win, should have a clear run to the Big Twelve championship game. Texas Tech still has several tough games ahead of them.
